We offer individualized consultations designed to guide you through every stage of the speech development process, from initial concept to final delivery. Our experienced consultants provide feedback on content, organization, delivery and visual aids, helping you to craft compelling and confident presentations.
What We Do
The Communication Skills Lab offers free, comprehensive support to help students excel in public speaking. We can work with both individuals and small groups. Our experienced consultants provide personalized guidance on all aspects of speech development, including:
- Brainstorming effective topics for your speaking situation
- Organizing ideas into a clear structure that your audience can easily follow
- Crafting compelling, well-supported arguments
- Developing strong introductions and conclusions
- Refining verbal and nonverbal delivery skills
- Managing speech anxiety
- Creating impactful, audience-centered visual aids
Our goal is to empower students to become confident and persuasive communicators.
The Communication Skills Lab offers guidance and support to enhance public speaking skills. We do not complete work for students or guarantee improved grades.
Delivery of Services
The Communication Skills Lab offers in-person, peer-to-peer consultations in Xavier Hall, Room 208.
Students should schedule appointments through EAB Navigate—Student. We do not currently offer drop-in hours.

The Communication Skills Lab will offer appointments Tuesday, Sept. 3 through Friday, Dec. 6. The lab will close in observance of the following University holidays:
